I am Joelma Assunção de Sá, known in the Capoeira world as Mestra Diamante. I am 41 years old and have a journey marked by dedication, strength, and love for the art. With over 30 years of experience in Capoeira, I started my journey in childhood, building a story of overcoming challenges and representation within this cultural and sporting expression. With a degree in Physical Education, I lived for many years in Italy, where I worked intensely with Capoeira for over 10 years, spreading Brazilian culture and teaching workshops in various European countries. My international journey brought knowledge, rhythm, and energy to hundreds of foreign students, always with the purpose of promoting inclusion, respect, and the appreciation of Afro-Brazilian culture. Currently, I live in Palmas, Tocantins, where I continue my mission to teach, inspire, and train new generations of capoeiristas. With pride and recognition, I became the first woman to receive the title of Mestra de Capoeira in the State of Tocantins, a historic milestone that reflects my competence, determination, and leadership within the Capoeira community.
